[humanser] Help with convention topics

Hi List:

Here are a few ideas for the Human Services Division for Convention 2010:

1 Career Choices: What are some of the careers that blind professionals
are performing in the human services? Perhaps 10 members in different
career lines might identify what their job is. Making each presenter have a
90 second time period to state their profession.

2 Private Practice Mental Health / Addictions practice. Is this a
realistic goal?

3 What do you do when your clients / patients ask about your blindness.
Examples: who dresses you, how do you drive to work, can I help you with
that, you can't see his eyes rolling around in his head, check out my new
tattoo, did you have to go to school, who feeds you? I've heard all of
these, mostly from children, over the past couple of years.

4 Wearing sunglasses to hide your eyes; how does this effect treatment?

Of course these are some subjects that would interest me. I'm sure that
they would not interest everyone.
