[nabs-l] Using disabilities service at your campus?

This is exactly right. It is always a good idea to sign up with the DSS in case you run into problems, but many times professors are willing to provide reasonable accommodations especially if they can see that you are obviously blind. Of course if you request something that they don't find reasonable, you will have to talk to the DSS office if you are actually entitled to that particular accommodation.
