National Convention Debrief:

NABS had a productive and exciting week at this year’s National Convention in Las Vegas! Whether you were experiencing the thrill in person or following the live stream from home, we want to thank you, the membership, for all of your contributions. It is our students who make NABS the powerful resource and network we are so proud of.

NABS made a rousing presence with our engaging events:
NABS Networking
Annual NABS Business Meeting
American Action Fund 100th Anniversary | Braille Carnival

We want to extend a huge thank you to all of our student volunteers who made these events run smoothly and successfully. We would also like to thank our NABS Board for all of their hard work behind the scenes and at center stage.

As we come out of this year’s convention, we would like to say a hearty farewell to our departing board members: Tarik Williams and Janae Burgmeier, and we usher in our new board members with the promise of so many possibilities to shape our future.

Congratulations and onward as we work to level the playing field for blind students across the nation!

NFB Open House Gatherings:

Many people do not know the National Federation of the Blind, and may be reluctant to attend a local chapter meeting where you may have your questions answered. We will be hosting teleconferences for individuals that are curious about the National Federation of the Blind. The teleconference will present you with an opportunity to receive information from and ask questions of Federationists. We will be able to dispel the myths and misconceptions about the NFB and highlight the benefits of membership. These calls are specifically intended for individuals who are curious about our organization and would benefit from learning about us in an educational environment.

The calls will take place on the third Sunday of each even numbered month at 4pm eastern and the third Wednesday of each odd numbered month at 8pm eastern. Our first two calls will be Sunday, August 18 and Wednesday, September 18.

In order to participate, RSVP by emailing membership at nfb.org or calling 410-659-9314, extension 2509, and let us know which call date works best for you!

Potential Chemistry Employment Opportunity:
