Hi All,

To answer Emily's concern, I have contacted the person who is the disabilities services staff. I let her know of my concerns, and someone from her office sent an email to both me and my algebra professor requesting my professor for the spring semester to contact me about how to accommodate me. They have not given any excuses about accommodating for the class yet and seem open to helping me, but I thought I would reach out to yall to see if yall had any other suggestions bessides the ideas I already have that I could provide them with. I hope to be hearing from my professor soon, though. I didn't mean for the email in this thread to sound like they are not accommodating. As far as I can tell, they will work with me.
Thank you for your thoughts, and I hope this email cleared up some things.

Blessings,
Ahbee

I am somewhat concerned, because I really think you should speak with your college and explain to them that you are going to require additional resources. Having limited resources is not a reason for you to meet denied your materials. my question is, how do you function with math? Do you require braille or are you comfortable working only with a screen reader? You are entitled to the textbook that is being used by your peers, none of them would be expected to do the class without it.

I have thought about a few options on how to get the materials in an accessible format for me to better understand but would like your thoughts and suggestions too. I have an embosser, an InTact drawing board and eraser with the special paper, and a sensational drawing board. I also have JAWS, MathType, and Duxury on my Windows computer. Are there specfic programs or other suggestions you may have to successfully make the math and science accessible? I am attending a small private college, where they have limited resources.
