I'm not sure how your place of employment works, but I'd have let a higher-up know of that person's comment. It was rude and inappropriate.
Management needs to know even if there is nothing they can actually do to resolve it.

All I have to say, Marilyn, about your experience, is that it was/is incredibly weird and something along the lines of what a young child who did not know better would do. People get just a little strange from time to time, don't they?
