[Nfb-kzoo] meeting on Monday

NFB Members,
We had a great meeting last night, and I feel it was very progressive.  The secretary will be finishing up the minutes today or tomorrow, so look for those soon.  I will need everyone to read over the minutes carefully, as each member has been delegated a task or two towards the aims of the chapter.

I know that some of you had trouble yesterday with weather and other extenuating circumstances.  I just want to encourage you all by saying that, this is Michigan, times are hard and weather is even harder lately.  I understand that things will come up and making a meeting may be difficult for us all at one point or another.  We always feel it most productive to have as many bodies at the meetings as possible, but truly I will say that I believe the meetings are far less important than what is done outside of them.  The meetings are a way to refocus, to align our purposes, and honestly, to enjoy one another's company.  They are used for gaining ideas and approving motions, welcoming new members and several other things.  The meetings are very important...however, more important is the work done outside of the meetings, for this is the muscle on the skeletal framework.  Without this outside work, what we do, say, and think at the meetings is just an empty shell of ideas and aspirations.  Outside of them is where the real progress occurs.  So be encouraged, make the meetings if you can, but if not, be their for the true work, be responsive to e-mails and phone calls, and be ready to put in what you feel is the time and effort you can put in...and that's all we can ask.
