Hello Everyone,

I am new to the list serve, though not to NFB. I've been a member for many
years; not as active as I could have been in the past, but am trying to
increase my involvement, now.

I am a retired senior, who has recognized the benefits of technology on an
intellectual level, but have been frustrated trying to use devices in an
efficient manner. I'm one of those people who stayed in my comfort zone for
much too long. Until very recently, I was using Windows XP with office 2003
and JAWS 7. Now, I'm using Windows 8.1 with office 2010 and JAWS 15 - a
huge learning curve!

I'm interested to know if any of you are able to access technology support
from your State's agency for the blind under the Elder Blind program? If
one is a VR client, the services are available, but I think that in most
instances, it is not true for those of us who don't have a vocational goal.

I look forward to your comments.

Regina Connor,

Rhode Island
