Hello Judy,
I had the most awesome experience last summer. In Ticonderoga New York there is a place called Star Trek Set Tour where they have completely rebuilt the original set from the original series! The detail is unbelievable! They ask people not to touch anything because it is museum quality. Then, the tour guide who is the guy that built the place invited me to come over and run the transporter and touch all of the controls on the bridge. I actually sat in the captains chair! Then he invited me over to check off station where I fire the phasers and the photon torpedoes. I felt like a little kid! It was so cool! Little did I know 54 years after Star Trek went off the air that I would have such an awesome experience. I have a picture standing on the transporter platform between a manikin of Spock and Kirk. How cool is that!
