[nfb-talk] Here We Go Again

All,

Let's calm down a bit. Whether or not a blind person can or is working in
an construction arena now certainly doesn't mean it cannot happen in the
future. It matters not the pace or the complexity.

The more we learn, the more surprises we find insofar as what blind people
can do. However, there is nothing wrong with each of us having our own
opinions. I am not going to presume who is right or wrong and neither
should ANY of you.

We have seen accomplishments this century unimagined by blind people only 30
years ago. Even 40 years ago none of us would have thought we could buy a
totally portable machine for $1,800 which could read virtually any print.

Next January a blind person will independently drive a car. Many still
don't believe it will happen and others think it is a misuse of funds and
time. I disagree that is a misuse of funds and time, but I respect others'
opinions on the subject. As Michael Blumberg put it a few months ago, "I
respect anyones right to be wrong", (grin).

Brian is entitled to his opinion and he may be right for now. In the
future, who knows, but he also may be wrong now. If you think he is, prove
it but don't slam him.

You people are a bunch of hypocrits. You don't know a damn thing about
Brian except that he has an opinion that differs from your own.

Hey, brian, just ignore the insults. That's how you show these people
what a real, strong, independent blind person is. Don't let them
intimidate you.
