Dear Fellow Federationists:

It grieves me to have to inform you that California has lost one of our
finest leaders. Geraldine Croom was the President of the Guiding Lights
Chapter located in Los Angeles. She has held that office since sometime in
the eighties. She served on our Board of Directors for almost twenty years.
Geraldine was known best for the huge Hawaiian Luau fundraising event which
she held every year to raise funds to send blind people to the state and
national conventions. Geraldine believed strongly that you can live the
life you want and she committed herself to making that happen. She served
as our PAC Coordinator for many years with Jim which allowed them to become
close friends and partners in the movement.

Please join me in sending our condolences to her family. I will share
information about funeral arrangements when it is confirmed.

Sincerely,

Mary Willows

The National Federation of the blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams.

You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

Thank you,
