Now I see the nature of your problem.  You can set the following as a 
default or on a per-recording basis: Go into Recording Source and 
Perameters, choose the enhanced button, and check accelerated, 
silent, recording.  Set the ratio to 1 to 1, since you aren't looking 
to speed things up, just to silence them.  This works great with mp3 
streams, and pretty well with others.
