[nfbcs] External disk drive

The thing is, it doesn't have a drive letter. It just has a name in
Device Manager, under Disc Drives.

It is a Speedano 2.0 USB external disc drive.
My USB ports are active--I have things plugged in to all 4 of them. As
per Gary's suggestion, I unplugged one device, and move the disc drive's
cable to that slot. As I said, the computer makes the USB turning on
noise when I turn on the disc drive, and the off noise when I turn it off.
I just can't get at the darned thing.

I have the disc that came with the drive, and I can try reinstalling the
drivers, once I figure out which ones I want from the several selections.
I remember it being hard to do though, when I did it years ago, the first
time I tried to get this drive to work.
