[nfbcs] T-Mobile phones

Hi -- I have used both talks and mobilespeak, mobilespeak I used for 4 years
and downloaded releases from their site, which regularly updated the phones
it ran on. I now use talks which probably has model numbers listed on their
website as well. Just pick a phone you like. one thing they don't tell you
at T-Mobile, and AT&T, is that you can use any GSM compatible phone on their
network whether they "support" it or not. Supporting a phone means it
supports all the features of that phone and -- more importantly -- if they
support a phone they have software for use by their tech support staff that
simulates the phone so they can walk you through various operations.
However, any phone supporting GSM network protocol will work in all basic
functions, even if something like video calls or other frills isn't
supported.
I am locked into using the N82 because that is the only phone running the
knfb reader, which I purchased last year. I am an AT&T Wireless customer
and they complain loudly that they don't support my phone, but I use it
without a problem.
Good luck.

Hello Ryan,

I've been a T-mobile customer for several years now. I am using a T-mobile
Dash with Mobile Speak. The Dash, the Dash-2, and other phones that support
Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1 should be fine with the Mobile speak for Windows
Mobile. The T-mobile Shadow is also supported, but I haven't tried that
phone. T-mobile also makes some phones that are Pocket PC phones that work
with the Mobile Speak Pocket software. Before I got Mobile Speak for
Windows, I used the Simbian version of Mobile speak with several Nokia
phones. Unfortunately, T-mobile doesn't sell Mobile speak, so you'll need
to investigate who sells the version of Mobile Speak that you want. I
looked on the Code Factory web site, you can find it at www.mobilespeak.com,
there is a link for distributors, then US distributors. I got my Mobile
Speak from Vision Cue but there are several vendors that sell Mobile speak
and its various software versions.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Beth

Hello,

I want to upgrade my cel phone to one that accomodates speech and has
texting capability. I'm a T-Mobile customer and I want to know which models
of their phones work with either Talks or MobileSpeak, and also how I order
the software.

Thanks,
Ryan Stevens
