[nfbcs] OT System Variables and Default Directories

Nicole,

I don't know if this is of any help, but I'm guessing your computer thinks you are logged on as user Nicole.NICOLE-Dell and that
changes you make to the system variables are regarded as temporary. The "users" control panel entry varies some between versions
of Windows, but I think that there is generally a function to rename the user account. You probably have to rename the user
account to what you want it to be and then move the relevant content of c:\users\nicole into the newly created folder. That means
that you probably will want to rename c:\users\nicole to something else so you can be certain that it doesn't get overlayed. It
seems to me that I did something like this under Windows XP and still had to do something with some folders.

If you are stuck with what you have, another approach is to not worry about changing the directory, but use the system variables
when you have to specify paths to make life easier. For example, %userprofile% should point you to the folder containing all your
user specific data. You should double-check the names under vista, though.

Good luck.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson
