The Vinux developers were hoping to release a trouble-free Vinux 4.0
late last fall but are still having some trouble with Ubuntu's new Unity
styled desktop. Ubuntu decided to follow the Window 8 lead with a
desktop that is more touch screen targeted and in order to do that they
dropped the older Gnome style was much friendlier to the accessibility
features in Linux. I wouldn't recommend using Ubuntu 12.x. Stick with
the Ubuntu 10.x that Vinux 3.x versions use, especially if you have not
used Linux before. Another plus is that by using Vinux 3.x versions you
can depend on good support from the Vinux support group;
http://groups.google.com/group/vinux-support?hl=en. If you try to use
Ubuntu 12.x, you'll run into the same troubles that the Vinux developers
are trying to fix.

On the other hand, if you don't mind some small troubles and rolling
your sleeves up to work out some bugs with the help of the support group
and the developers and helping the developers out with testing, the
latest test builds of Vinux using Ubuntu 12.x can be downloaded here;
