You will need a domain and hosting before you can put your site up somewhere
else. Unless you want to use one of the free platforms like Google,
wordpress.com, etc, which it sounds like you want to be away from. I can
help out if you want to contact me off list.

Subject: [nfbcs] Need someone to take my website and rebuild it on
adifferent host

Hello everyone,

I am missing being able to design my own website. Currently, it is on
Google, and I need it moved from there.

I have the text saved off, and and working on adding the XHTML tags.

I really haven't kept up with design in the last five years. The terms
people throw around now confuse me. When I did design outside of Google,
the web host was the host, and you didn't have a host and something else.
I'm confused. When i login to Google Pages to work on my sites, it's all in
one place.

My friend who taught me web design a decade ago, keeps saying I can
host it on Wordpress. When I go to the Wordpress site, it says it connects
with a host. That's rather contradictory. I didn't like Wordpress's blog,
and left it years ago, because it became too confusing, and was not
viewable, or work with able for people with low vision.

I just don't have the time to do it myself, and my writing too.

     Do you have any recommendations?
