[nfbcs] NFBTRANS

Jude,

While you are certainly correct about keeping code and data separate, the
types of rules that one can put in a table are logical and require some
coding. If turboBraille anticipated all of the rules that UEB needs, then
tables can be changed. I do not know how TurboBraille works in that regard.
NFBTRANS, as I have said before, anticipated quite a few rule types, and one
could go quite a ways toward producing UEB braille. However, there are some
cases, particularly where passages of text can be shown with certain
attributes, where I understand NFBTRANS falls short. There may be some
other areas as well.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

If I have this right, the last version of turbobraille I found was
tbrl504.zip and that was on Chuck Hallenbech's website. That was a while
ago though. So long as turbobraille failed to store any of its data in
executeable code itself and got everything from data files it used U.E.B.
may be more easily possible with turbobraille than nfbtrans.
We were told about not intermingling data and code at Arkansas Enterprises
For The Blind during computer programmer training too and that was back in
1982-1983 for me.

limited use. You can get a version it here:

However, I have considered having a NFBTrans area, just never did it.

Let me know.
