The list was set up a few weeks ago by Jackie Mcbride, who is a Wordpress expert. I have found it very helpful. To 
subscribe to the list send a message to
wp4newbs-request at freelists.org
Put the word subscribe in the subject field by itself.
You will receive a URL that will take you to a page that explains terms of service  and privacy policy. After you 
agre to these you will be subscribed.
