[nfbcs] The strange case of a MacOS version of KNFB Reader.

Permit me to remind you folks of an event at the 2017 national convention in Orlando. At that convention it was announced that the KNFB Reader program was to be released on the Windows platform.

Someone, not me, then asked from the floor of the convention if a MacOS version was to be released and the speaker assured us that such would be the case. Silly me, I believed them. So I wrote the other day and asked as to it's progress.

I was told that I must have "misunderstood" the announcement at the national convention and that no such MacOS version will ever be developed. (Read the email chain below.)

Now beyond the fact that this raises questions about the veracity of anything said at the national convention by anyone it strikes me that there should be a public statement made by those handling the KNFB Reader program that in spite of what was said in public at the 2017 convention that there are no plans for ever having a MacOS version of the program and that the speaker who indicated otherwise was providing incorrect information to the convention assembled.

When it comes to truthfulness of statements made at the national convention it would seem that caveat emptor should apply.

I apologize for the misunderstanding, but there was no official KNFB Reader for Mac announcement at a national convention or at any other time. We have KNFB Reader for iOS, Android and Windows, and do not have any plans for other versions at this time.

So the announcement of such at the 2017 NFB national convention was in error? Perhaps a public statement to this effect is in order then?
