The first shortcut executes the chrome.exe, specifying the path, of course, all enclosed by double equotes.
The youtube short cut is the URL, no quotes...

Where is the first shortcut, that brings up the UAC dialog, going?

Normally, a UAC dialog appears when a shortcut asks Windows to run its program as an Administrator. I don't think that option is normally available for an Internet or web shortcut; but it could be launching Chrome directly and passing the URL on the command line for Chrome to launch.

In any case I regard it as suspicious at best for an Internet shortcut to launch a UAC dialog. Websites should generally not require admin rights, in my experience.

I'm sure the explanation is obvious... but I'm drawing a blank...

My default browser is Chrome. I have a shortcut on my desktop which brings it up to a New Tab. The UAC dialog comes up.
I have an Internet address shortcut that brings up Youtube.com. I get no UAC dialog even though Chrome is used by default.
Why?
