Best answer is often specific to app/site etc. unfortunately. A few tips though:
For a website:
Ins+5 with the JAWS virtual cursor active may not tell you an accurate color. RouteJAWSToPC and then Ins+5 might, but that route command may take some time in some circumstances.
Local app:
Very dependent on how the app is coded. Besides font and color, selection state could indicate your choice, or a checkbox graphic beside it, or probably a few other possibilities. I would have to see the app myself to say more.
I'm willing to do that but I don't know your timeframe.

I'm taking a self-assessment test. It's multiple choice, and the choice is
selected by "clicking" with the Jaws left mouse.
Is there any way to confirm what has been selected? I looked at the color,
and the font, before and after I clicked, and it stays the same.
I want to review my answers to some questions before I submit, and it would
be handy to know what I picked. It would also be good to know the right
thing was selected if I changed my answer.
I'm using Jaws 2019.
Thanks.
Tracy
