[nfbcs] Developers creating cross platform cloud apps and providing accessibility feedback

Hey everyone:

So I’m writing this list of amazing individuals, to find out if any of you have a resource I can leverage while reaching out to companies.

Let me give you an example, I’ve been leveraging cross platform applications such as Todoist, Convert kit, and lead pages just to list a few.

All of these tools, provide a interface to perform different tasks, and as a blind user I’d say they’re 80% accessible.

The one problem that a majority of them all seem to fail with is actually labeling images or the visual graphics they’re using to offer a action.

Let me give you an example:

Click on the tools icon in the upper right-hand corner of the project you want to forward your email to.

All of the items I click on on the desktop using chrome or Safari don’t seem to render a tools menu.

Nothing is labeled with “tools“, and before I reach out to their support team in order to limit the friction that may arise, I’d like to be armed with as much information as possible.

Therefore, does anyone have any recommendations for making what might be the tool they’re using more user-friendly for blind users?

Or is it really as simple as asking their support team to request that their engineering  team add alt text to the tools icon representing the tools menu?
