Hi,

Yes, I want to learn about plex.
I can see saving shows from the net but why would people use space to save dvd movies they already have by the tv?

For me, the major benefit is that I only pay for electricity and the initial cost of the hardware. Also, all my data is local, so I can access it at the speed of my LAN.

That said, I also use cloud backups, but I don't back up everything.
Only the stuff I couldn't bare to lose, such as family photos, documents, etc.

I also run Plex, so all of our media can easily stream to our various devices throughout the house.
