Greetings NFB in Computer Science members,

First I must apologize that when I sent my previous email following our meeting in New Orleans I neglected to join the mailing list and the message got stuck in moderation. I've included the contents of that email below following my signature in case you are interested. Again I'd like to thank you for having AWS at the conference and allowing us to speak to your group at your business meeting. The whole experience was delightful and of course I learned a great deal about what I don't know.

This week we published our second batch of tutorials and launched our open source project that allows any developer to contribute. With each tutorial we have an interactive AWS CLI based shell script that covers the entire scenario of the tutorial from start to finish including setting up prerequisite resources, using the API , and cleaning up afterwards. At launch we have 70 tutorials and scripts for 64 services, covering a broad set of capabilities and cross-service use cases. Our goal was to provide an experience for learning how to use services with the AWS CLI in a holistic way and I think we're off to a good start.

Please refer to this post on the recently launched AWS Builder Center, and the documentation in the GitHub repository, for more information about how we created the content and how you can contribute.

I will be posting more on Builder Center to highlight specific use cases from the tutorials. Please send me your unconstrained feedback!

Thank you

Greetings members of the NFBCS,

Thank you for having us at your business meeting. It is a great privilege to be able to share our work with you and participate in the convention. I hope to have the opportunity again in the future.

A few weeks ago AWS Documentation launched our pilot set of tutorials focused on automating getting started use cases for popular services. These services now provide tutorials that you can follow to get started building applications from with the AWS CLI. They are designed to work end to end from the command line, including resource creation, validation, troubleshooting, and clean up steps.

We are now working on a larger set of tutorials for our second batch. In this batch, we will include scripts with the tutorials that you can run to test the workflows and use as a reference point for your own scripts. We are also working on a centralized location for discovering and using these tutorials and scripts.

Please try any of these tutorials that you find interesting and send me feedback about your experience. Specifically I would be interested if you have any feedback regarding the usability of the examples commands and output.

Thank you!
