Good evening. It has been a while since I've installed ram in a PC and it
was a desktop. I have read through the manual for my laptop and it
suggested having something called an anti-static kit? What is that and is
it necessary? The manual has the usual inaccessible diagrams which I've ran
through the AI tools, but I'm not sure I remember what the laptop ram chips
feel like. Also, is it necessary to disconnect the battery cable before
installing ram? The manual mentioned something called service mode, is this
necessary if I am shutting off the computer before opening the system? This
is a Dell pro16 laptop for reference. It has a cover I'll have to unscrew,
not one you can slide off.
Thanks in advance.
Sean
