¿Interesado en ganar un iPad mini? Pues bien, BlindHow.com está dando uno nuevo en la primavera, y todo lo que tiene que hacer es contarnos acerca de su trabajo y cómo lo hace .
Las personas ciegas de todo el país y en todo el mundo trabajan en todos los campos imaginables , incluyendo pero no limitado a la medicina, el trabajo de oficina , la educación , la ingeniería , la meteorología y derecho. En www.blindhow.com queremos saber cómo está haciendo su trabajo y cuáles son las técnicas que se utilizan para hacer el trabajo bien hecho. Es nuestra misión educar a todo el mundo ( tanto ciegos como videntes ) acerca de las capacidades de los ciegos , demostrando la forma en que las personas ciegas son capaces de tener éxito en la fuerza laboral.
Creemos que no es la ceguera la que crea una barrera a la independencia y el empleo. Más bien,  es la falta de información precisa, así como las ideas equivocadas y los estereotipos que crean los mayores obstáculos para el empleo significativo para las personas ciegas. Para cambiar estas ideas falsas, estamos comenzando una campaña de 6 meses de escuchar a tantas personas ciegas como sea posible acerca de su trabajo.
Como hemos prometido, alguien va a ser el afortunado ganador de un iPad mini gratuito. Todo lo que tiene que hacer para ser elegible es enviar un mensaje a nuestra página web contándonos sobre su trabajo y cómo se hace . Puede ganar puntos por llenar diferentes presentaciones . Por cada 5 puntos que gana, recibirá una entrada en el sorteo del iPad Mini. Así que si tiene 30 puntos , su nombre entra en el sorteo 6 veces, 40 puntos si pone su nombre 8 veces, y así sucesivamente .
·         Una descripción por escrito sobre su trabajo y las técnicas alternas que utiliza le hará ganar 10 puntos.
·         Un mensaje escrito junto con una demostración de audio de las técnicas alternas que utiliza le hará ganar 20 puntos en nuestro sorteo del iPad. 
·         Una descripción por escrito junto con una demostración en video grabado le hará ganar 30 puntos.
·         Si se refiere a alguien a blindhow.com y se envía un mensaje sobre su trabajo, ganará 5 puntos adicionales. Para ganar puntos de referencia , tanto usted como a la persona que usted refiere, debe enviarnos un correo electrónico mediante el enlace en blindhow.com para decirnos a quien ha referido, o quien lo refirió a usted.
Nuestro concurso de empleo se desarrollará del 1 de octubre al 30 de marzo, y lo rifaremos para nuestro ganador del iPad en mayo en nuestra convención estatal de la Federación Nacional de Ciegos de Utah. Interested in winning an iPad mini? Well BlindHow.com is giving a brand new one away this spring and all you have to do is tell us about your job and how you do it.
Blind people across the country and around the world work in every field imaginable, including but not limited to medicine, office and clerical work, education, engineering, meteorology, and law. At www.blindhow.com we want to know how you are doing your job and what techniques you use to get the job done right. It is our mission to educate everyone (both blind and sighted) about the capabilities of the blind by demonstrating how we as blind people are able to succeed in the workforce.
We believe that it is not blindness that creates a barrier to independence and employment. Rather, it is the lack of accurate information as well as the misconceptions and stereotypes that create the greatest obstacles to meaningful employment for the blind. In order to change these misconceptions, we are starting a 6-month campaign to hear from as many blind people as possible about their work. 
As promised, someone will be the lucky winner of a free iPad mini. All you have to do to be eligible is submit a post on our website telling about your work and how it's done. You can earn points for completing different submissions. For every 5 points you earn, you will receive one entry in the iPad Mini drawing. So if you have 30 points, your name goes into the drawing 6 times, 40 points gets your name in 8 times, and so on.
·         A written description about your job and the alternative techniques you use will earn you 10 points. 
·         A written post along with an audio demonstration of the alternative techniques you use will earn you 20 points in our iPad drawing. 
·         A written description along with a recorded video demonstration will earn you 30 points. 
·         If you refer someone to blindhow.com and they submit a post about their job, you will gain an additional 5 points. To earn referral points, both you and the person you refer must send us an email using the email link on blindhow.com to tell us who you referred or who referred you.
Our employment contest will run from October 1 to March 30, and we will draw our iPad winner in May at our state convention for the National Federation of the Blind of Utah. So please submit your posts, and refer more people to increase your chances of winning. Good luck to all who participate.
The ultimate goal of this project is to use this information to help educate the public about what we do as blind people, and hopefully we can open more doors to make it easier for qualified blind people to find employment.
