Carlos,

Thank you for sending this report. To bring you up to date. I have not
scheduled a legislative committee meeting just yet. I am trying to get a
member from Tallahassee and the info on Janice Breedlove. I am looking at
Sunday, August 9 though for a meeting.

To date though I have met with Rep David Rivera about having a bill on a
Commission for the Blind in Florida who is looking into it but does not
really see the need and was talkingt along the line of APD which we
vociforously opposed.

We also talked in peerson with Luis Garcia about the pedestrian safety issue
and we will have a bill in the house either from him or Mike schointe who
Gloria sent the information to. Interestingly they are room=-mates in
Tallahassee. He also suggested contacting Sen. Villalobos for the senate.

I have meetings next week with Julio Robaina about Web site and Ron Brise
about newsline funding. I contacted Dwight Bullard's office about a Florida
IDEA and sent tthem material that we presented last March. Rep Bullard will
be away until next week. I am going to contact them again then to set up an
appointment. I believe that we will go further going for the IDEA which
would include the Braille bill than just working on the Braille bill alone.
I had thought we had passed a bill on the National level to take care of the
textbooks on a post secondary level so I had not worked on that issue. If
this is still an issue we can also talk with Rep Bullard and his mother Sen.
Bullard who I plan to contact.

They have not started to drop bills or drafting of bills yet. I believe that
will come in August.

I will be glad to have you home and helping with these issues.

Betty
