Ah yes.... computer issues.... sometimes I think I need a computer therapist!
Had to do a system restore myself today.

Sabrina - thank you so much! Daytona chapter rocks! You all welcomed us with
warm hearts and minds. It was great to re-connect with friends and make some
new ones. Special thanks go out to Chris Mazel, whose office painstakingly called
all parents in the area to invite them to the meeting. I really appreciated learning
about how another chapter works and interacts. Plus you all listened intently
concerning parent issues. Parents need blind adult role models more than they
know, and what better place to find them than local chapters? Eric would certainly
not be where he is today if it were not for the guidance and support that he has
received from our Jacksonville chapter and our state affiliate. And Larry and I, as
parents, are continuously learning from all of you. You are all very much
appreciated!

I want to personally thank the Jax delegation for making the trek down I-95 to
ttend the Daytona chapter meeting on Saturday. Lenora Marten did an excellent
ob speaking about the parents division. We had three families from our area who
ad never attended a chapter meeting present to get all the valuable information
enora has to offer. A big thank you is due Eric Marten for sharing his
xperiences as a blind student and youth.
f course, my gratitude goes out to Gina and Joe Minachiello for contributing
heir valuable knowledge and coming to hang out with us. I really had a great
ime learning and visiting with everyone.
.S. Sorry for the delay. I'm still playing catch up because of my recent
omputer issues
incerely,
abrina Deaton, president

I had a great time as well.
have never been a part of another chapter, nor visited one.
here were a few things done in the Daytona meetings that I would like our
hapter to try. I recommend, if at all possible, a visit to another chapter.
especially loved the spacious private meeting space.
enora did an excellent job with her talk about the parents division. She is
xtremely knowledgible with issues that parents of blind children face and
esources to help their children.
I am looking forward to next week in St. Augustine. This will be our first
fficial NFB Day Off. We work hard for the NFB, so we deserve some fun time too.
his will give us the opportunity to bond socially and boost chapter morale.
his can also help with recruitment since some may be attracted to the fun
ctivities. I am so glad the Greater Dayona Chapter decided to join us.
