Dear Friends,
I simply cannot believe, even many full grown adults who have been Blind all
their Lives, do not know what standard "Printed" Letters look like.
When a dear friend told me she did not have a clue, I had to do
something!
I spent a bit of money one time, purchasing Plastic Letters from the Home
Depot Store, you know those kind you put on your mailbox or porch, they were
if I remember 2 or was it 3 inches high, to let folks know your address and
family name, to let them know you live there.
I used my Braille Labeler to put a little tag on each Plastic Letter, a bit
of work, you know 26 letters in the Alphabet!
And the Postage after I wrapped them up in bubble pack and boxed them, well,
it added up as this was a country on the other side of the World. Yes, they
spoke English in this country!
True, This was a "Skype Friend" in another country, but she was a certified
and licensed attorney in her country, and still had no clue what a "A" or a
"Z" or a "F" looked like.
Is that simply Strange, or is this more common place than I thought?
I had a long and happy 3 year relationship with this very, very bright,
witty and wonderful young lady!
All responses appreciated.
With Best Regards,
God Bless,
Alan
