Fresh Conklin News

This evening I spoke with a Conklin Center Board member.  He and five of the seven Board members had only joined the Board 45 days ago and were not advised that the director was in talks with the FL Division of Blind Services about Conklin’s numerous issues.  

The Conklin director did not make herself available to the Board to help transition their clients.

DBS is working with others to totally restructure and re-open the Center, but not for the next several months.

The community support program, which costs just $10,000 a month, has never had DBS funding.  Those clients are the most impacted as they have been dependent on this service.   

And, the employees, lining up in the unemployment lines?
