RTBS is currently seeking applicants for the following position:
Communications Director
Radio Talking Book Service (RTBS) is seeking an energetic full-time
Communications Director to join our team. RTBS serves the state of Nebraska
with a mission to connect individuals who are blind, low vision, or print
impaired to news, information, arts, and culture through the human voice and
technology. Through human connection, RTBS enables all people to remain
active and engaged in their community. RTBS has a cadre of over 80
volunteers who read print media aloud either live or as a recording, and
those readings are broadcast over the radio and internet to RTBS' listeners
statewide. This full-time position has an annual salary of $50,000-$52,000,
offers PTO, and a Simple IRA Match benefit.

Duties:

1. Volunteer and Program Coordination:

a. Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, retention,
and recognition.
b. Orient and train potential volunteer readers and assist Program Director
with volunteer reader coordination. Oversee coordination of specific
volunteer roles.
c. Maintain subscriptions and logins needed for programming.
d. Operate the board and make live station breaks during scheduled on-air
shift at least once a week.
e. Will be cross trained in control room to ensure coverage in Program
Director's absence.
f. Record program material as needed.
g. Oversee distribution of radio receivers to eligible listeners. Assist
clients with radios.

2. Outreach and Communications:

a. Assist with social media coordination, email marketing, and contribute to
overall digital content strategy. Includes Giving Tuesday, annual giving,
and other fundraising efforts.
b. Coordinate and support communications projects, outreach, and products as
needed. This includes tabling events and preparation for outreach.
c. Create documents and perform data entry as required for client data, mass
mailings, correspondence, newsletters, and acknowledgements. Organize
volunteers and staff to assist in the assembling, labeling, and preparation
of newsletters and other mass mailings.
d. Host, procure guests, and curate questions for the RTBS interview
program, Community Conversations.

3. Office Management:

a. Greet visitors, take incoming calls and direct where needed.
b. Process mail as needed. Serve as primary Post Office contact.
c. Manage the purchasing and storage of office supplies.

4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

. Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking and
working with others.
. Excellent written communication skills, including social media acumen.
. Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM Software Platform (eTapestry), and
email/social media marketing tools appreciated. Comfortability with
technology, hardware, and software, appreciated.
. Fundraising experience appreciated.
. HS Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree appreciated.
