[NFBN-Announce] Help Empower Blind Children Through Give to Lincoln Day 2026

Dear Family, Friends, Federationists, and Supporters,

The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska Lincoln Chapter believes
that blindness is not the characteristic that defines a child's future. With
the right tools, training, support, and high expectations, blind children
can build confidence, gain independence, and live the lives they want.

This year, our Give to Lincoln Day campaign is focused on supporting the
2026 National Federation of the Blind  Braille Enrichment for Literacy and
LearningR   (BELL) Academy of Nebraska, a life-changing residential summer
academy for blind and low-vision children ages 6 to 12.

The 2026 NFB BELLR  Academy of Nebraska will be held June 8-13, 2026, and
will provide students with a fun, supportive, and empowering environment
where they can learn and grow alongside blind role models and mentors.

Through Braille instruction, daily living skills, STEM exploration,
accessible games, and hands-on activities, students build literacy,
independence, confidence, and lasting friendships while discovering what is
possible for their future.

Your support helps us:
. Provide Braille books and accessible learning materials
. Offer the academy at little or no cost to families
. Cover meals, lodging, transportation, and activities
. Create meaningful learning experiences that promote independence and high
expectations
. Connect children with successful blind role models and mentors

Give to Lincoln Day is a community giving event that encourages support for
nonprofit organizations serving Lincoln and Lancaster County. Since the
event began in 2012, the National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska
Lincoln Chapter has proudly participated thanks to the generosity of
supporters like you.

How You Can Help

Donate
All donations made between May 1 and May 28 count toward Give to Lincoln Day
and help increase our share of the proportional $650,000 challenge match
fund.

Give Online Early
The best way to give is online through the Give to Lincoln Day website.
Online donations are eligible for daily prize drawings sponsored by the
Lincoln Community Foundation.

Each day from May 1 through May 28, one online donation will be randomly
selected to receive an additional $250 for the nonprofit chosen by the
donor. Donations made on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will be included in
Monday's drawing. Winning nonprofits will also receive additional social
media promotion from the Lincoln Community Foundation.

Spread the Word
Please share our campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, and
community networks. Every conversation helps raise awareness and helps more
blind children and families discover opportunities for success.

Use the official hashtag #givetolincoln when sharing on social media.

Every gift matters. Every donation helps us raise expectations, promote
literacy, and empower blind children to dream big and achieve their goals.
