Gary Ray here.

Raleigh is the center of the blind universe in NC. Other than Charlotte,
there is no place like Raleigh. I lived in Raleigh for 40 years and have
now retired to Asheville. Nice mountains, but the services are just not on
a par with Raleigh.

But, as in all things, it depends on what you want and exactly where you
live in any city as to what you get.

In Asheville, I live within walking distance of:
--talking ATM
-3 grocery stores
-4 drug stores
-Post Office
-polling place
-bus stop
-piles of restaurants

So, it kinda depends on exactly where you chose to live in a given setting.

BTW" There is now a chapter in Greenville. Contact All Sanchez at
albertsanchez at suddenlink.net

You pays your money and takes your choice.

Subject: [Nfbofnc] My apologies, and some questions

Hello everyone,

My name is Terri. Back in November I joined this list, and told everyone I
was moving to Greenville. I got some great responses, which I really
appreciated and had planned to respond back to.
However, my computer had different plans. So I want to apologize to all of
you who were kind enough to contact me. I didn't mean to ignore you. I
appreciated what you had to say to me.

Well I have been in Greenville for 2 months now, and things are not what
they seemed, or what I thought they'd be. That was not at all what I
expected to happen. I have had several friends tell me that I would be
better off living in Raleigh.
However, I don't want to make another mistake. I can't afford to do so.

What do you all think? Is Raleigh better than Greenville?
What are the advantages, and disadvantages?
Can you live in any of the smaller cities, and still get great
transportation services?
If so, which ones?
What kinds of services does Raleigh have to offer, over Greenville, or just
in general?

I am looking for either an affordable apartment, or a decent roommate
situation. Whichever happens first. If anyone knows of anything, or just has

any good advice for me, please feel free to contact me offlist. I'd really
appreciate the help. I'm new to all this, and rather confused.

Thank you so much! I will respond to my emails this time. Now that my
computer is behaving itself. *smile*

Terri
