[Nfbv-announce] Derek Manners passes Bar Exam!

Congratulations to Derek Manners, passing the Bar Exam.  He is a leader in
the NFB of Virginia.  His Biography appears below.

 

Derek Manners was born and raised in Oklahoma and Texas.  After starting his
undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma, he took two years off
to work on President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign for President. 

 

Returning to school at the University of Texas at Austin, Derek graduated
summa cum laude from UT in 2013 with a degree in political science,
economics, and business foundations. 

 

In May, 2016, Derek graduated from Harvard Law School and sat for the
Virginia Bar in July.  During that time, he also worked at the National
Office as an Advocacy and Policy Specialist. He's now working in Washington
DC at a law firm doing political law  

 

Derek was a 2014 NFB National Scholarship winner, served on the NABS board,
and was instrumental in relaunching the Massachusetts student division. He
currently serves on the NFB Virginia Scholarship Committee and is the Youth
Track Coordinator for NFB Virginia.
