Hello students,

I know that only some of you are in or near Cincinnati and most of you
already have pretty full plates, but I am passing this along just in case
anyone wants to give it a shot.

This group has been around for 20 years and has done some really innovative
things. People with all kinds of disabilities 9(and some with no
disabilities) perform in these plays. You would have help whenever you
needed it and, let's face it, would also realize the areas in which you were
lucky when the disability cards were dealt.

It's a chance, in other words, to have a new experience to put on that
resume, but also to maybe help someone else while you're doing it.

Read on. In the past, performances, have included people who are blind,
deaf, have Down syndrome, use wheelchairs, have traumatic brain injuries,
cerebral palsy - and, of course, those whose only disability is mot yet
understanding disability.

If you do look into it, tell director Joe Link I sent you!

Read the details below my signature.

Peace,

Deborah

MARJORIE BOOK SEEKS TWO HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE STUDENTS - ONE MALE AND ONE
FEMALE - TO TAKE LEAD ROLES IN OSCAR WILDE'S THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST
IN MAY 2014. THE PLAYS HAVE A CAST COMPRISED OF PEOPLE WITH AND WITHOUT
DISABILITIES

Marjorie Book Continuing Education is a nonprofit organization that brings
teenagers and adults with and without disabilities together for continuing
education classes, service learning projects and theatrical plays. We like
to have fun but also pursue intellectually exciting projects such as
theatrical plays. Every spring and summer, Marjorie Book produces three
full-length plays involving a diverse cast of people with and without
disabilities.

Marjorie Book is currently producing Oscar Wilde's hilarious 1895 comedy,
The Importance of Being Earnest (subtitled "A Trivial Comedy for Serious
People"). The play follows two young men, Jack and Algernon, have been
using the pseudonym "Earnest" to have a double life of carefree drinking
away from their day to day responsibilities. But, the play takes hilarious
turn when Jack and Algernon fall in love with women who will only love them
back if their names truly are "Earnest."

Marjorie Book has a great group of 8 actors who have rehearsing The
Importance of Being Earnest since the beginning of April, but the group
needs two more actors who could round out the cast and provide some
leadership and role modeling.

Marjorie Book has a stipend to pay a male "lead actor" to assume the role of
Jack Worthing. The group also has a $250 stipend to pay a female "lead
actor" to assume the role of Cecily Cardew. Interested people should
contact Joe Link at linkj at xavier.edu or (513) 328-6300. While the schedule
is negotiable based on other commitments that actors may have, here are the
remaining rehearsals at which we hope to have lead actors playing Jack and
Cecily:
