Hi all,

In the spirit of giving, I'd like to share some new party dish recipes
I've come across in the past few days. These will also work for
appetizers at a New Year's Eve party, and they're all really good.

This first one you kind of have to have a sense of humor about. On
Pinterest, it's called "Better Than Crack" dip, but just because it's
so addicting. The recipe below calls for sour cream, but my Aunt who
made the recipe used the same measurement of cream cheese instead. It
also fails to mention that although you do refrigerate the dish, you
serve it hot. Here it is.

16 oz sour cream
 1 packet Ranch dressing mix
3 oz bacon bits (in the bag not jar)
 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Mix together and refrigerate 24 hours. Serve with chips and/or veggies.

Then, there's my cousin's BLT dip. This can be served hot or cold,
and goes really well with wheat thins or pretzel crackers. They
substituted the ingredients like mayo for low fat versions to make it
a little less unhealthy.

1 pound of bacon,
1 cup of mayo
1 cup of sour cream
1 tomato-peeled, seeded, and diced.

Directions

1.Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat
until evenly brown. Drain on paper towels.
2.In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise and sour cream. Crumble bacon
into the sour cream and mayonnaise mixture. Mix in tomatoes just
before serving.

I believe my cousin added in shredded lettuce to make it an authentic
BLT, but this allrecipes.com version is what they went by for
everything else.
