[Ag-eq] Egg color

That place sounds wonderful! I've never minded roughing it. My husband
rigged a hauling strap up for me that runs from the porch rail out to the
first chicken coop and he can easily remove it for mowing. I only use it
when there is snow on the ground or if we are having high winds or heavy
rain. I can't orient myself with the wind and rain, there are far too many
trees around. this last winter we have had more snow than I care to think
about and Matt was out in Seattle for eleven days and we had two snows.

Rain or shine, the chickens and outside dogs need to be tended to. It
sometimes took me several hours to get everything done, trudging through
snow that was slightly above my knees with drifts two and a half to three
feet deep up against the coops. Trust me, you don't go very fast when you
have a shovel in one hand and a small bucket in the other carrying feed and
water one bucket at a time and being totally blind at that.
