Hi Jody,

Nice to hear from you. I'm still here, getting ready for late winter early
spring preparations around here. We did get our first goat the first of
December. He is a male
Toggenburg (dairy goat) a whether, named Homer. Friends of ours were forced
to move into town and couldn't take him with them. He was a 4-h project for
their kids and didn't want to sell him. We took him along with his fencing
and now he is quite the new member of the family. He prefers Matt over any
of us, but all it takes is a carrot or an apple and he likes you well
enough. We are planning on getting a female

Toggenburg in the late fall from a local dairy that sells them already bred
and would kid the following February/March.

We also will be splitting our 3 bee hives in April and have found someone
who will take the three new split hives on their farm for their large apple
orchard and their sewn fields. We will still own the hives and collect the
honey and they will get the polinating bennifits.

Early pruning will start this month for our muscodine grapes and we are also
going to plant 12 more plants. Matt will make some more wine and my sister
and I will make more jelly and conserves.

I'm going to order another 25 Rhode Island Red hens and one rooster and will
probably pick them up in April/May. I am considering stripping coop 1 out
and setting it up for electricity so I can take in baby chicks. Right now,
I only take in chicks 4 weeks or older. I don't have electrical for the
heat lamps.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday and the weather isn't treating you or
your animals too rough.
