Jody:

It sounds as if you have been very busy!

I kept thinking I needed to post to the list and I was especially interested to
hear about your new adventures. I'm so glad some one got the ball rolling
around here. I wish this list were a little more active; I always learn so
much from everyone on here.

There is a type of fish that help with masquitos, but I can't remember what they
are called. I know people who put them in large stock tanks. They are suppose
to be very helpful.

I compost with horse, chicken and goat droppings. It takes a while for it to
break down here in the desert. I have to water down my compost pile and turn
it frequently. However, I have been quite successful with growing things.

I love the Barnyard in Your Backyard book. I found the chapter on chickens and
goats to be very useful. I have it saved on a thumb drive so I can access it
when ever I need to.

My baby goats are geting huge. The doe is giving less milk, but still enough
for cheese and such. A friend and I have been making goat milk soap and it's
turning out very nice. I need to find a buck to breed my other doe to,so I can
have milk and babies in the spring.

I will plant a fall garden in the next couple of weeks. I would like to build a
couple more raised beds. I also have a small herb garden that is doing very
well.

That is about all that is going on with me.

Nella
