Hi Ann, so glad to hear from you.  Sounds like you are having a fabulous time down there in Colorado.  I'm up in Michigan, but who knows, maybe I will get to travel for 'work' someday. (Most days, making stuff hardly feels like work!)

 My paintings are mostly visual, but with the addition of acrylic collage, they have been gaining a bit of texture as of late.  I also paint on leaves, which lend their own feel to projects.  I've never had a chance to try stone carving myself, but it sounds like fun.  Enjoy your end-of-summer art bonanza!

Amber, Welcome! So happy to have you on the list. I am finishing up my summer commitments by the end of August and will then have more time to chat on-line. I am very happy you have found us. I have a lot of ideas and some practice too in making tactile paintings. I would just love to talk to  you about some of the techniques I am using and hear what you think. 
FYI - I teach art at the Colorado Center for the Blind, I make tactile interpretations of paintings from the Denver Art Museum collection but I am primarily a stone sculptor of tactile art. I am sighted.

Hello everyone.  I joined this group recently and thought I might introduce myself.  My name is Amber and I am an artist. I make jewelry and would love to get back into pottery and sculpture, but painting is my big focus.  I hope to do more than just paint as a hobby someday, as I have found it to be a true passion of mine.

I have been legally blind since birth with ONH, and I am so glad to see these discussion boards exist, I had no idea until a happy accident led me to them.
