Uber launched autonomous vehicle (AV) rides in Zagreb, Croatia, on August
19, 2026, making Zagreb the first city in Europe where riders can book an
autonomous trip directly through the Uber app.

Uber: Manages platform integration, dispatch, payments, and the rider

Verne: The Croatian mobility company co-founded by Mate Rimac owns the
fleet and handles local service operations.
Pony.ai: Provides the autonomous driving system using its Gen-7 Virtual
Driver technology.
Booking: Riders requesting UberX or Comfort trips in select areas of
Zagreb, including the city center, may be matched with an autonomous
vehicle.
Safety Operator: The service is beginning with a phased rollout using a
