Uber is testing autonomous rides with Wayve in London, England.

Overview of the London Trials

   - Vehicle & Technology: The trials use all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E
   vehicles equipped with Wayve’s AV2.0 Embodied AI Driver software, surround
   cameras, and radar sensors.
   - Licensing and Regulatory Approval: Transport for London (TfL) granted
   Private Hire Vehicle licences to Wayve’s test fleet. The trials operate
   under the UK Government’s Autonomous Vehicle Trialling Code of Practice and
   Uber’s existing TfL Private Hire Operator licence.
   - Safety Drivers: During the initial phase, a trained, licensed safety
   driver remains behind the wheel and can intervene if necessary.
   - Rider Interest: More than 100,000 London riders have registered their
   interest in opting into early autonomous Uber trips.
