I've heard about the miniguide from a friend and would luv to try one out.
The nearest thing I understand is the k-sonar which I have seen. Its quite
good but you need to be able to use headphones with this so isn't suitable
for me. To my mind using headphones defeats the object of even having such a
thing.

Sorry, I forgot to say that it's the Miniguide that I use. I bought it in
the US a couple of years ago but I think it is just the standard Miniguide
not the Miniguide US but I am not sure what the difference is.
I also looked at the PalmSonar but it doesn't have such good range. There
doesn't seem to be much available in the UK, so I got the Miniguide whilst I
had the chance when in the US.
