Hi, all,
I attended the wheelchair clenic appointment this afternoon and the process has started: paperwork and other stuff.
There were some concerns of my safety in regards of me being totally blind, but I figured it was worked out.
Two more hurdles to deal with which one is if Colorado Medicade can be convinced and the second, they will understand the need for me to have a pwer chair so I can still be independent after experiencing a convulsive grandmal seizure.
It will come in handy on the days when my arthritis is really bad.
my goal is to keep my independence and not have to rely on my husband daily.
He's almost finished with school and I'd love to see him be able to look for employment.
The power chair will allow me to keep walking, even if I have to roll on wheels.

I was able to test drive one today and boy, I made sure the test chair was all the way slow.
I did practice using my cane and it was a little tricky.
I'm used to standing up and walking with the white cane, but definitely not sitting down in a power chair as of yet.
Good thing is I have a great team from Denver Health Medical who is willing to help me out fight for one and if need be, the outpaitient therapist, Cindy (am not sure of her name spelling) is willing to work with me from home and out to Denver Health Medical for the training session.
They would really like to see if they can get Denver Vocational Rehabilitation to have a O&M instructor help out with the training, but if Cindy can't get them to budge, the training will go on, regardless.
*Smiles*
Will write another update probably in three months or so when I know more.
