As others have said, the iPod Touch will work with VoiceOver and the 
Braillenote.  It is a good choice, will do most of what iPhone will 
do, but you don't have to worry about phone part. Much Assistive 
Technology is moving towards iOS devices so good to get her going in 
that direction.
