I come to the conclusion that everyone needs to judge for themselves what
their comfortable with and when a business decides to do an accommodation
its really a judgement call if its an appropriate thing for their child or
not.   'Our' kids are all very different. Some have serious sensory issues
that the waiting in line can be overwhelming.  Its also important to know
when you are posting on a NFB list it should be a surprise your getting
these responses. The NFB philosophy makes our kids strong more independent
and more respected.  Remember the NFB has had to fight to allow blind
riders on some attractions since they were denied entry due to safety.
 When we cry something is not safe for our children people feel our
children are not capable of doing the simpliest things even shocking
getting dressed or eating.

The thing is the new plan by Disney addresses the whole staying in line
thing by asking the patron to simply return at an assigned time to get
right on. Kids will not be put in the fast pass line.  I feel the people
this new policy has a the potential to hurt are those that are medically
fragile and they simply can not stay in heat very long.  Its not about
lines since the new policy doesn't make people with the new pass wait in
lines just ask them to return at an assigned time, This makes sure that the
patrons with the pass are not getting an advantages to going on a popular
time say 20x times when most people can only go on 2 to 4 times in a day.
 No one can say that is fair.   Now i know many people feel the new plan
isn't appropriate  for their children

 I just thinks its wonderful that Disney is trying to be family friendly to
all kinds of different times of families.

Now I am going to change the topic a bit about getting similar type of
accommodations for blind children. This is something I think about often.
 I am going to bring up the parking placard/plate issue. I think its always
important to ask the questions WHY with such things.  i revisit issue at
different times and have different conclusions.   I am going to admit
having a disabled parking permit placard.  I have for two reasons. 1. Due
to my child's developing cane travel skills parking in odd unsafe spot make
my daughter more dependent on me than parking in a disabled parking spot.
This became an issues a few years ago when my daughter's school was
constructing a new school on the site.   It wasn't safe for her to park at
any of the other half hazard spots.  I wanted people to her get out of the
car independently and get herself into school not needing the assistance of
her parents.

2.  The city we live in offers free parking for those with a handicap
placard (and other cities in the area are the same) I think the policy is
odd  but its the policy.  Using the placard for parking has allowed my
daughter to have more experiences.

i have only use the placard when safety is an issue or it promotes my
daughters independence. (or using that odd ball parking discount)  Yes you
can tell I still have some very strong mix feelings about this lol.
