Hi Mike:

A BrailleNote might be a good idea. Couldn't you request to use a laptop 
as a reasonable accommodation? Brailling your essay and reading on a 
cassette sounds like a hard way to go. If you used your BrailleNote or 
laptop, the testing facility could supply you with a flash drive or 
compact flash card to save your essays.
