Blind Collegian wrote, "However, once you meet the "specialist," they will often admit they do not know Braille, except maybe Grade 1 Braille."  Wow. I guess I could qualify as a Toyota specialist since I know how to change the tire on one. Or perhaps I could be considered an obstetrical specialist since I've sat in on a few cesareans.  As a professional braille transcriber, this makes me sad and downright embarrassed for my profession.
