Sina,
  You are right up, or at least very close to my alley:). In fact, I am 
reading a paper right now on fusion of auditory stimuli, somewhat in line 
with what you were noting about influences of sound on prior 
information/following, masking, and the like. I am a psycholinguist in 
training, and love this stuff too. Psychoacoustics is incredibly fascinating 
as is spoken word processing, my more specific area. I hope to do some work 
in the future with neuropsych (e.g., ERP or F-MRI). We have a couple of labs 
for doing both though my work currently does not use these methods.

  Are you a psycholinguist or psychoacoustician...? I would love to chat.
