[BlindMath] accessible reference management software

I like BibTeX as a format and BibLaTeX as a package to generate the citations and bibliographies. If you use Markdown with Pandoc, it can also process BibTeX files. The main disadvantage is that (without an accessible reference management tool), one has to maintain the BibTeX files manually in a text editor. I would prefer to be able to export directly from a bibliographical database to my own database, but the accessibility issues with the tools mentioned here make that difficult at the moment.
